I love everything food related, eating it, cooking it, reading about it and thinking about it. I am passionate about cooking good food for my family and have a huge collection of cookbooks (one of my favourite gifts!). Many of the recipes for dishes I cook regularly are scattered throughout my cookbook ‘library’ and for some time now I have been wanting to create a digital / online collection of all my favourite recipes, some of which I have tweaked / adapted over the last 20 years. I am often asked for recipes by friends and family so I thought it would also be useful to have them online so I they can be accessed easily by anyone (including myself), from anywhere. I hope that when my kids ‘fly the nest’ and are hopefully cooking for themselves that this site / blog will be useful and will create some fond memories for them.
The one thing that all the recipes will have in common is that they will taste delicious, won’t be complicated, will have been tried, tested and will work!
So this is a little project of mine whereby I will be posting all kinds of recipes for straightforward, healthy family food, as well as popular desserts and sweet treats. I hope it will encourage people to cook from scratch which I am passionate about. I will also be including some of my own personal favourite healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners too. I am into keeping fit and eating a good, healthy diet but I balance this (80/20) with my love for making (and sampling) sweet treats which I always try to make for the family at the weekends.
PS – (I am just learning about food styling and photography so bear with me as I hope this is something that will improve over time!)
